Linen has been part of my life since childhood — the smell of fresh flax, my grandmother's hand-embroidered tablecloths, the particular comfort of a well-worn linen shirt. I grew up in Latvia, where linen isn't just a fabric, it's a tradition passed down through generations.

In 2016, I brought that tradition to Greytown. Linarte was born from a simple wish: to share the quiet luxury of natural fibres with New Zealand — the way linen softens with every wash, keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter, and only gets more beautiful with time.

Today, Linarte is a curated mix of clothing, homewares and fabric from Latvia, Lithuania and selected range from sustainable New Zealand brands — chosen for quality, natural materials, and timeless design. Every piece in our store, whether it's a linen dress or a hand-thrown ceramic, is here because I'd want it in my own home.
